Company of Heroes 2

SEGA thinks you need some convincing. So, to get you to join the Company of Heroes 2 front lines they're trying a little something different, whilst not resorting to that 'not a single step back!' policy for motivation just yet.

Those who pre-order the game through their chosen retailers are in for a treat:

Eligible customers will get access to a 'Theatre of War' mini-campaign when it becomes available post launch, allowing them to experience a new single player story from another part of the war. They will also receive the Winter Ambush and Voronezh Front skin packs to customize the look of their multiplayer vehicles.

Plus:

(...) two new multiplayer commanders to customize each army. The German army will receive the Joint Operations Doctrine, specializing in precise artillery strikes and the Offensive Spearhead Doctrine for players who want to use heavy armor and airstrikes to crush their opponent. The Soviets will unlock the devastating Anti-Infantry Tactics Doctrine, enabling units like flamethrower tanks and the Conscript Support Tactics Doctrine which allows for rapid reinforcement in the heat of battle.

Not a bad strategy overall, but the incentive would surely be far greater, we say, if that mini-campaign was made available to front-liners before launch.

Regardless, Relic Entertainment's war effort proceeds at a steady pace, towards a much anticipated late June release.

Hmm. I've been a COH fan from the beginning so I was already on board. However, I'm not one to really preorder games simply because of the little gimmicks they offer, (Maps, Skins, Etc,) considering it's not too long after the release those items are offered for free or their made available through **ahem** other means :|

You can get beta key by "liking" CoH2 on FB.

Been playing few games with friend. The game is pretty different from the original, and I don't think it has a chance to have success like the original, there are few things that feel worse. Although we were playing against AI for now, but even so, there were less tactics used than in CoH1. Also I failed to notice MG's doing a thing, mortars on the other hand pulverize any static defense.

Also by an example - german half-track is able to sustain 2 hits from russian AT gun. If the HT has flammerwaffe installed - the AT is toast. In previous game it was mostly 1 shot and HT was gone. German army doesn't have medi-kits for 25 ammo, they need to build bunkers with medics, while Russians have whole base triage center upgrade. Vehicle pathing is horrible, tanks are really prone to get stuck. Also tanks get plenty of engine damage, some of them are very ridiculous. I would say they can even get engine damaged by rifle fire.

My personal best with Flame HT - was 100+ Russians burned, something I wouldn't achieve in CoH1, not even against AI.
