A Good Pounding

Making yourself heard is half the battle. Drumming up a storm from Saint Petersburg, russian indie developer Mr.Vladimir Konstantinov is heralding the coming of his tactical turn-based strategy game, Crasleen: Drums of War, to all who will listen.

The tale:

Dark times came for Crasleen – The Horde had risen from the graves of the dead and had besieged the once impregnable city walls. Defense of the city is weakening day by day, and only a miracle can save the people in it from total destruction...

Your voice:

The player assumes the role of the hero-leader. On the campaign the Player's army recruits various mercenaries and unique characters. By participating in the battles, all of the characters become more experienced and get stronger. Player hires new recruits, buys potions and distributes artifacts obtained in battles between fights.

In addition to these characteristics and abilities to fight enemies, there is to account the side where to deliver a blow, the type of vision and time of day. The interactive environment provides additional space for tactics: trees can be turned into allies - ents, burned or just cut down, barrels can block the way, and part of the river may be frozen into ice for moving to the other side...

Features:

• 2 campaigns with 30 missions each

• 4 races available, 50 character types

• Interactive environment

• Attack castles with scaling ladders and catapults

There is now a demo available (i.e.: at GamersHell here) sporting four missions and multiplayer via hot seat. The sounds of war so grow louder as conflagration is nigh - to happen, in fact, this very first quarter of the year.

Apparently Drums of War approach and we hear some more:

In a world of magic and mythical creatures, you will lead your army through 2 campaigns spanning 30 missions each, choosing to be a hero of one of the 4 available races. Rely on your strengths but also on the power of magic and spells, recruit more soldiers, gain experience and conquer the world with your army!

Also offering a Hotseat multiplayer option, the fantasy world of Drums of War goes beyond your imagination; every object present on the map is interactive and can be used to reach your goal: for instance rocks can be used as weapons and trees can be set on fire - and you can do all this and more, just by a one-click of your mouse! The in-game campaign editor lets you create custom campaigns, as a series of linked battles, with story text and customized rewards. You can save these campaigns a single file in order to easily share them.
