Thorondor
Battle AcademyBattle Academy has a provocation for you. If, unexplainably, you haven't yet experienced the warring joys on offer in this much lauded turn-based tactical strategy game, or you just couldn't recruit a friendly for a brief game over tea, now excuses are no more.https://www.strategycore.co.uk/site/assets/files/5456/news-thumbnail_battle_academy_updt_bnr.jpg For starters, a newly updated version of the demo with interesting new possibilities built-in has been made available. From the announcement by Slitherine/Matrix Games: This new demo version includes an intro mission and a full single player scenario, set only a few days after the Normandy landing. It also allows you to accept invitations to 2 multiplayer scenarios from players who have the full game, It represents an ideal prequel to the main game and it is designed to be accessible and enjoyed by any newcomer. (...) All existing players now have the opportunity to invite any friend to a multiplayer battle, even if they don't own the game. The process is very simple: by clicking the new invite button that has been added to the game's main menu, players will be driven through a very simple setup process. The invited person will receive a link to download a demo and taken directly into the scenario with its turn ready to be played. Mr. Iain McNeil, Development Director at Slitherine, even reveals some very special invites to play the game will be directed at people like former Secretary of State of the US, Colin Powell, general David Petraeus, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US General Martin Dempsey, and many others. Surprising developments end not here, though, as Battle Academy has been updated to version v2.06 (see the changelog for details) and, for a week, the core game will be on sale with a nice discount.
