silencer_pl
I've just lost any desire to play this game anymore... after so much fun the game decides to destroy all what I have built.... At turn 180 a System Killer emerges in deep space and its collision course is through my homeworld... Also I have like 6-8 turns to respond to him, but I don't have such firepower to destroy it + I am playing humans I can't 'weaken' him in deep space. My furthest save is at turn 163... which means above post either will be scratched or few things will change and I will force my way to DN class ships but still I think it will be not enough. This friggin thing is armed to the teeth and is so durrable that I don't know how many missiles or fusion torpedo ships I would need. I could try to 'cheat' my way out of this situation but neither I found any good save editor and the so called trainers that would up my research are on the paid site.... Blah... don't know what to do.
Space Voyager
Finally a game throws you a decent challenge and you lose a desire to play?! FIGHT, SOLDIER!!! SPOILER Wild Weasel is a very handy weapon against Sparky. But you'll need to field several, not just one DE. If you don't have Armada CnC yet, this is going to be very difficult. If you do though, you can field as many missiles as possible and revert Sparky's with WW, this could do the trick. No promises though, as usual. When everything fails, you can still wait it out. Sparky is making something like a Vogon highway but eventually he goes away. Judging from your success, you CAN live through this.
silencer_pl
Finally after gazilion of reloads and prayers I managed to defeat him... Took me quite a pain to get needed tech... I overpopulated all my planets and prayed that boosting projects will get me through my income was ok for that. Luckly I got very fast dreadnoughts + cnc + anti-matter torpedoes and misslies and with enough money I build 10 DN's and was able to kill him - lost 8 of them - got no video or screenies as I didn't know if I pull it through... Strangely after that endeavour all AI's now have anti-matter.... looks like the game wants AI to be 'competitive' at any stage (unless the player is slacking off). With that sorted out I think I can continue to annihilate everything in my path... With luck also I can have admantine armor - but my shields are only lvl 1 - grumble grumble. silencer_pl
Finally a game throws you a decent challenge and you lose a desire to play?! FIGHT, SOLDIER!!! Decent challenge indeed - but it didn't gave me a chance to prepare for it from the word GO. If that was for example Puppet Master of Peacekeeper that wouldn't be as bad as that - bah even VN Berserker isn't that trouble as what this was. Space Voyager
SK is the hardest in my opinion. Great to hear you managed to pull through! BTW, you can still re-fight him and document the fight. It is an interesting encounter.

This just takes the cake! https://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b348/SpaceVoyager/Smiley/xtreme.gif
silencer_pl
Yeah good name - too bad I already named my DN battle ships.... but as for Flag ship....well there are 4 names that only cought my fancy: -Dark Star-Death's Hand-Great Thorondor-Thunderchild And I remember the song so I think I will call it Thunderchild - why ? Here is the part of lyrics that may justify the situation: "Moving swiftly through the waters(space)Cannons blazing as she cameBrought a mighty metal War-LordCrashing down in sheets of flameSensing victory was nearingThinking fortune must have smiledPeople started cheering'Come on Thunder Child''Come on Thunder Child'"
Space Voyager
Captain, why are we just sitting here? Shouldn't we be taking all this immense firepower into action?

silencer_pl
So continuing with the story. At the point where I took some break the AI started to invade me all over the place. I've barely kept fleets in vicinity to repel the invaders and also trying to invade. I gained and lost few worlds but all in all enemy was throwing only cruisers while I was throwing dreadnoughts. Only Liir gave me more trouble because of their high-tech. Time to see how are Morrigi doing - obviously not so good - scrambled eggs anyone? She was also pain in the ass - managed to send few cloacked fleets on few my colonies where I was 'blind' - but I have retaken them very quickly and in very painful way for her. More crows. They were so weak they didn't hold me back. And you will be my bed slave for eternity. Now this is very interesting battle and I am amazed of the outcome - sure some people lost their lives but people are less expensive than ships. Not that I want them to die but war is war. More fish filets And you are mine.
silencer_pl
After so many battles I check that I have few projects for my research. Could it be ? No they are just stations At last my flagship will dominate the universe And finally my personal fleet is assembled. I call it 'Imperial Inquisition'. It's time we kill some Zuul. (skip few minutes I haven't noticed that I've added unimportant movie at the beginning) Steamrollering continues And finally but a way way too late. The Fish are fielding Dreadnoughts themselves. More special projects Hah - finally I was able to defeat this fucker. Yep - you're dead Here fishy fishy fishy. And last effort of Morrigi defence. Children of the dust became the dust literally
silencer_pl
Even more fish fillets What's up - you don't scare me with that STATION The show is nearing the end Now it's you and me you bitch Hello - eat some and have even more. You will beg me for mercy I found you bastard. Though at first I couldn't managed to destroy them. I returned few turns later and crushed this annoyance. Our empire spans throughout the whole galaxy You have no place to hide. It's time you meet your ultimate demise. The last battle 'Thus is the fate of the enemies of the empire' Victory is ours
silencer_pl
Answering your question SV about not connected worlds - I had 3 that required STL travel.

Space Voyager
Great AAR, Silencer! And obviously WELL played, too! If the AI would go for DNs sooner instead of (it seems) researching all fusion based techs it would pose more of a challenge, this way the fish weren't able to turn the tide even with their high tech... In real space map three worlds without nodelines is very few. Nice.
silencer_pl
Also wondering - Zuul make node lines yes ? I saw them traveling different path than mine - so if they create node line - why humans can't see it ?
Space Voyager
Also wondering - Zuul make node lines yes ? I saw them traveling different path than mine - so if they create node line - why humans can't see it ?The lore goes that those Humans found a way to detect and use naturally occurring nodelines. Zuul artificially "hurt space" and the... spacial imprint? or whatever is not the same. This is why Humans can not automatically detect Zuul nodelines - and Zuul can not automatically detect natural nodelines. Research can lead to nodeline detection though.
