If I edited the game so that NO weapons required ammo, could I in theory end up with more aliens to fight? Would the aliens even get equipped with weapons in the first place? Or would they just get more grenades to toss around at my poor cowering soldiers? I'm not at my comp at the moment, so I can't check myself.

If all you editted was the ammo thing, then aliens should get the same load outs as they got before.

Note that grenades don't use ammo, so they'll still have one usage each.

Heh...I meant as in, if I made it so no weapons used ammo clips, would the tactical games not include clips and instead put other items in its place?

The engine will still generate the clips in the guns. To change this, I think somewhere in the executable is a table that dictates the usual loadouts that you will have to edit. I don't recall if this has been found yet.
