Scandinavias largest gaming magazine Gamereactor has reviewed UFO: Afterlight.
Link.
It is in danish so the short version: They give it a 5 out of 10.

My comment to this review is the following: Has the reviewer even tried the game properly (+20 hours worth of gameplay) instead of taking a swing at it for a few hours?!?

That is DEFINITELY not a fair review score. I can tell this much from the demo, the rest can only make it better.

After digging up some dirt I can say that the reviewer is a complete novice to the universe of UFO: After**** and the only reference he has to compare it with is of course....UFO: Defense/UFO: Enemy Unknown. angry.gif
Yes, I found his blog entry when he was trying UFO: Afterlight. hmm.gif *We know where you live*
From what I could figure out from the blog entry. He became so frustrated with the game that it bored the life out if him. Therefore he was never really into it.... killcrazed.gif
Thus the somewhat crappy review.
Yeah I know....I am a very very bad man. But unjustified reviews which this is PO's me....

Heh, UFO series demands some time to master and when somebody is looking for an X-COM remake, he will be dissapointed. But if I don't even want to take the time to play the game thoroughly, I would definitely not write a review.

Another review at vnunet.com. Haven't read it yet. I think we should stop posting about every review however, and just post summaries now and then.

Just an extract :
With Supreme Commander just around the corner and other, better space-based strategy games already on the shelves, UFO Afterlight is unlikely to appeal to anyone other than dedicated fans of the series.

This guy do not understand the game at all !! How can you compare Supreme Commander and UFO Afterlight ?? argh.gif
Better space-based stategy, ah ! don't make me laugh where are these other game ... grin.gif
