At last, we're giving other countries and their officials the respect they deserve...

Oh dear.

Actually, "Mr. Scooter" deserves a lot less...

And that's from one of his countrymen!

I'm not getting the Mr. Scooter completely either - but only because a few other things in that image were distracting me. But I take it that it's meant to be Lewis "Scooter" Libby?

I'm generally not dirty minded on purpose nor do I go for potty humour, but my brain was rolling around in the gutter after these:

Bush 'Ordered Intelligence Leak', Trial Date in CIA leak case, 'Bush Blow'

Ugh, those are bad. Media headlines taken out of context are a goldmine of fun and groans. Still, hey, might be fun. We could have a thread where we can posts headlines from our local newspapers that sound completely and utterly wrong when read out of context.

Well the BBC evidently hedged its bets. The lower right hand side of the picture shows a link to the BBC profile of one Lewis "Scooter" Libby. I suppose they thought that if they used enough variants of his name one of them would probably be right grin.gif

Look out for any American media reports that describe Tony Blair as Prime Minister of England. That always infuriates people from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

EDIT: looks like the BBC fixed the mistake nearly ten hours after publishing the story link

Accounting Troll, you got it right that they were hedging their bets. Later on in the SAME STORY, he was referred to correctly as well. It seems that many folks work on the same BBC webpage story, and not all of them totally sober or with it.

"Have you all met our newest copy editor, George? He's been living under a rock for five years, but he's pretty good at erasing comics captions and inserting newer, more inappropriate ones! Lets give him a warm BBC welcome"

Are you implying that some British journalists are occasionally sober? I take it you haven't read any of our tablods recently laugh.gif
