Hey all,

I playing now through Sentinels for the third time in a row - and still enjoying it grin.gif
There's somethin I'm wondering about though:
I read something about a special random encounter in Egypt with a lot of PKs and the Hammer sattelite from S² crashed. Can anyone tell me where exactly it is on the map? I'm playing with hidden REs, so I can't seem to find it.
Next question is about the "shade mission" in Switzerland... same problem as above, I can't find it.

Another thing is the robot facility in poland I heared something about, and that you have to take certain missions and find some clues. I did the mission in the mine and found the encoded message, also the finnish border mission where I talked to the guy escorted by Hammer, and now the Valhalla mission (that is the mission where you have to get into the building of a company of Hammer in Switzerland, is it?), found the code book, still no mission appeared on the poland screen.
I did the phone call in the valhalla mission to lure away the cops, and before this mission I did the one in the egyptian ruins if that matters.
Is there something I did wrong or still have to do?

Oh, and I searched the forum about these topics but couldn't find something really useful, so I hope you can help me.

TIA

grin.gif Hey Shadow Stalker,

Read the thread on how to get Shade, it's very good. He's not a bad character but for some reason you can't give him a flack jacket later in the game, and he doesn't seem to level up as quick as the other mercs. Don't really know why though. confused.gif

I know some people don't bother with him, but if you can survive the level early on you get some good weapons right at the start. The mission is a random in Switzerland, not too far from the middle of the map. you'll have to wait a while for the mission to turn up though.

There is the infamous bank robbing mission in Germany - Just to the right of the LZ point where you "start" in the regional maps.

The Egypt Mission is somewhere in the middle of the map I think. Again, Egypt missions are rare so you might have to wait a while.

As for getting the robot facility, I don't know! I know there was a detailed description of how to get this mission on the nival forums, but they deleted these a couple of months ago I think. I assumed it just turned up once all the info was collected, but I've never got it so can't say argh.gif

Keep an eye out in some of the mission maps for extra goodies. The mines mission is good, at the end of some of the corridors there are wooden partitions that can be shot through or blown up. There are some nice offerings behind them. Also the Stealth mission in Russia. there are some very nice weapons and treasures in that house! Just take a good engineer and a lot of mine probes and picklocks with you......

Going to play again after this campain and see if I can get Komik's Random Storm mod to work. Plus make it a lot harder! That should make it much more interesting

Thanks for the link smile.gif

Unfortunately I did it like it's said in the thread (except that my hero is a sniper, not engineer), but the mission doesn't show up... I'll try replaying the switzerland mission without calling away the cops.

You're welcome wink.gif

Did you say that you are playing with hidden random encounters? I had a problem in my last campain when I played with hidden random encounters, in that I had to camp at the place where random's occured, and then leave before going into the random mission. This was the only way I could get the German Bank robbing mission! If you can find out where the mission pops up in the Poland map, this might get you into it. Apparently it is just south west of Warsaw.......

Let me know if you get it. I'm just debating starting again with an engineer as my hero to see if I can get this mission. It seems a big waste after having got through the "defend the base" mission last night though confused.gif

Hehe, the german bank mission... that's the reason why I play with hidden random encounters, because it's the only way I can seem to get the bank more than one time wink.gif It's excellent for training, as you have more and better enemys than on most of the other RE maps, plus the magnificant cash bonus you can get wink.gif

When I tried to do the valhalla mission without calling off the cops, but killing them instead, I didn't even find the deciphering book. :/

Are you sure though that the polish factory mission appears as a random encounter? Because in the thread in the nival forum you linked they said at least the symbol was like the ones for regular missions.

I have no idea, I've never played the mission grin.gif

Think the main points are make sure that you pick up the cypher book from the technician in the Mines mission, and you may or may not need to speak to the Hammer agent again after the cut scene in the Finnish Borders mission..

Read something about the other code book in the Vahalla mission being in the bookshop? Dunno if that's any help or not. dntknw.gif

(like we didn't spoil already)

My two cents on the MechSoldier mission (not having played it yet, I'm just on my 3rd run through the game):

Judging from what I read on the Nival forums, you just need the coded message from the Penemünde Archives mission, speak to the THO Agent after capturing him at the Finnish border and then get the code book in the Switzerland covert mission.
Someone mentioned a Tech Skill of 130 is required for the main character to activate the Mech Soldier.

About the Switzerland Mission: I did it twice and always found the code book in the little library of the valhalla house. The first time I let THO kill all the policemen for me (which I had to pay for later anyway, grrr), the second time I lured them away with a phone call. If you can't find the code book in the mansion, you probably blew it away with a grenade? Well, then you call still use cheats.
The GetItem code for the code book is 580.

And yes, as far as I heard the Mech factory appears as a yellow mission sign on the Poland map right before the last mission.

Damn, I think that I got all the clues and still no mission in Poland.

Can someone confirm that it is enough to get the Encrypted Message from Peenemunde, interrogate the VIP at Border and get Decyphering book from Valhalla mission?

The message, when put into inventory, disappeared, accompanied by the "objective complete" sound. The decyphering book, however, just remains in inventory and nothing happens.

I suspect that there is another requirement - interrogating the corrupt soviet official in the Stealth mission. I killed him on purpose to be allowed all 4 missions. Thinking about it, I might try to kill Smoke instead in The Godfather mission (that is, kill him before killing all other bad guys) to fail this mission instead.

Also, I took Border from the Finnish side. Anyone done the same as me and still got the mission in Poland?

It's a hidden mission?! I had no idea. It just appeared on the map for me, I think alien.gif ... didn't really notice how or why.

And I couldn't get the MechSoldier working. Too little skill. Hmph.

In my defense, it was my first playthrough.
