Hey y'all-
Newbie here, let the jokes and friendly (or not so much) mocking commence! Anyway, I've tried a few times to install Tankman's Serverless X-com turn sender -- everything seems to install OK but I can't get it working. The Regedit was fine -- installed the VB files and exoffline. I'm just not understanding how to actually start a game and send a turn. Do I run normal x-com game to do that or do I run turn sender? And what is supposed to happen when I run turn sender? It just searches for exsystray (which I thought I was supposed to delete). I installed old version of file -- now nothing else happens when I run turn sender. Any of this make sense? Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!!! (running Win98) |

right then.... Email X-com...
1. install email x-com 2. install the turn sender 3. install excomoffline this should leave you with: ExSystray.exe Email-X-COM-offline.exe and all the normal email x-com stuff to start a game: 1. run Exsystray 2. run Email-X-COM.exe 3. start a game, play your turn, etc. 4. send.... this will cause the game to have an error of some sort... don't worry, this is normal 5. manually force the game closed if you have to. (ctrl-alt-del). or otherwise exit it normally to respond to a turn: 1. open the turn file. 2. this should open email-x-com-offline.exe 3. play the turn as normal, send 4. exsystray will automatically be run to take care of sending the turn -------------------- A Target_Tinboy production

Hi
Re-read the "ReadMeFirst" document that comes in the TurnSenderZip download. You should : 1. Install eXcom from the CD 2. download and install the ExOffline package. 3. You should then delete the file ExSystray.exe file from the installation directory. 4. download and install the Xcom_Turn_Sender package. This gives you a new ExSystray.exe file 5. Edit the registery etc. You could just extract that file from the zip to your Email X-COM folder ? Follow Alan's instructions to play the game. -------------------- Cheers

Thanks much! I'll try as suggested, though I think I followed that readme on at least one of my attempts. But I'll start over and see what happens.
So at no point do you actually run turn sender? Just download/install it? Thanks again -- much appreciated. |

ExSystray.exe = turn sender
thus like i said before (see how to start a game, point 1) you run it when you are starting a game. BEFORE you start ex-com. when recieving a turn/replying to one you don't have to worry about it, as it's dealt with automatically by ex-com-offline. (ie: the turnsender is automatically run.) -------------------- A Target_Tinboy production
