I'v change time counter at Geoscape screen from 5 second /60 to 1 second/99
( over 8x slower ) Now itercept ufos is easy on fast PC like at 386 grin.gif . This is for Ufo Enemy Unknown Gold/Collectors Edition ( 32bit ) only.

I'm looking forwared to testing this out.

How ever their is one problem.. you posted the full exe, not just a patcher for it. This would opens up a can of worms in the 'Intelecualy property' area.

Sence your patch did not increase the file size I can help you create a patcher program to apply your changes with out distributing copyrighted code.

00440d83 cmp ax, 003C -> cmp ax, 0063

I dont have a disasamler to work with your line numbers
but I have translated the changes to HEX offsets and created a patcher file.

You can get it at this link:
Patch File

just unzip the files in the ufo or tftd directory and run the tpatch.bat file

Feel free to post in on your site..
the version of sdump containd in the patch is used with permision.

I have discribed what is contained in the patch in the moding forum.
check out here

If any one has any problems with this patch please let me know

-Blade FireLight

PS. This patch will not work with some warez versions of the game. (i'm sure some of you will figure out how to get it to work. but i'm not telling.. go buy the game)

... something wrong was happen to detecting ufo's. I'v tested it and notice that detecting ufo's decreased to few in patched exe, but I abandon searching dependence between this patch and detecting ufo's bug - I'v found that both: ufo & tftd ( dos versions ) runs very well in DosBox beta CVS version. All animations, scrolls, sounds and time runs pretty good - without any changes to game code. You can control game speed with special keys: ( Ctrl+F11 & Ctrl+F12 ), go to fullscreen: alt+enter and much more..

check my post: UFO & DosBOX

That is asuming you have a dos version to run.

I do but not all of us have been around long enought to have one.. so slowing down the windows version is the only option for most people..

also.. how smoth is the slow down.. most slowdowns I have used are verry choppy, exspecialy with 1Ghz or faster systems.

no.. this thread does not actualy discuss how to mod the game.. it's an anoucment, and discusion of and existing patch.

their is already a thread in the moding forum covering how a patch for this can be made.
