A while ago Cyke posted a thread concerning a project to create a Pocket PC UFO by some russians.

However, no one could work out what it was all about, because their page wasn't in english.

I posted some extra info about it using a translator, but instantly everyone seemed to lose interest...

Anyway, it seems the site address has changed to this. Most of you won't be able to make much sense of it, so load up this translator page, and ask it to tranlate the site from russian for you. You can then browse the site, and the translation software will re-write each page as you go.

The reason I post this is they have released a beta version of their game. It runs in a Pocket PC Emulator that seems to be specially built to generate missions. Most weapons are available to use.

To play the game, load it up, make some settings (soldier count etc), then hit the Start Game button. Equip your soldiers as you wish, then hit the 'C' button (at the bottom of the panel) to enter the tactical display. To move a unit, select a place on the map for it to go to, then press the 'A' button. To change soldiers, use the appropriate button on the game screen. Given this, and the other buttons lying around the place, you should all be able to work things out. Have fun.

There is, as ever, a slight problem. Copyrights. As usual, the copyright holders (who ever they are at the moment) are right snobs and ignore all contact from prospective developers. As such, the game might never hit the shelves. This would be a shame; The game has been built from scratch and is already quite impressive.

Maybe we should see if we can get some PR for this? Maybe the suits will pay attention if the project gets some decent lime light.

As per usual, suits will only look up if you say "there's the money" and chuck a brief case at them.

It would be a good thing to happen if it did though.
