Last night I stumbled across http://www.returnoftheghostbusters.com/ to find a decent fan made film! Those who remember Ghostbusters from the 80s...well here's a interesting fan made movie. I was stunned with what fans can create with their dedication! It's not a Hollywood movie that's for sure, but it's the best fan film I have ever watched.

I've been watching Braxtan's films for some time. His work is very good, but it's horribly pained by terrible actors... (Watch the only female element in Freddy Vs. Ghostbusters. It's heart breaking.) I prefer the couple of cartoons he wrote, since voice acting isn't quite as sensitive.

Of course. They're volunteers, not paid professionals. They're having fun and getting experience being an actor. It's part of the whole fan making film fun. You can't compare it to Hollywood.

Um... I didn't make a comparison. But a few of these guys are supposed to be aspiring actors, or so it was claimed on Braxtan's own forum. I'm really not sure what they plan to do unless they seek some improvement. In the professional realm, these guys may as well already be typecast. This is why a lot of really good actors sometimes spend years on end doing live plays before even attempting film.

Hollywood isn't often much better. You'll notice CG and special effects tend to do wonders for the way people act in movies.

I just watched this film the other day, then downloaded it onto my Ipod to show around at work. This must be Braxtan's best work to date. The acting is much better than his previous works, definitely pushed for more convincing extras, and the villain was your classic over-the-top supervill that let's you hate him and laugh at him all at once.

I'm not sure I like how they retro the physics behind the Ghost Trap. In the original movie, the idea is that you're not supposed to look directly into the trap because the light is blinding, not because it would consume your very soul/ghost. But they never made that clear, because the scene explaining it was deleted in the final movie. So I suppose it fits, at least.

Another interesting thing to note... This isn't the first Braxtan work featuring Egyptian, Mayan, Aztec, or any other ancient civilization mythology. I am thinking this is becoming his writer's trademark.
