Lastly, Joystiq interview with Todd Hollenshead.

I noticed there is no Heretic II on that list, was that game not ID?

Ahh, I remember Heretic 2. I believe it was the first game I played where your primary weapon was used for a variety of moves. In fact, seeing as how much you needed to use it, it made no sense to switch weapons. I love how he used the Tome too. "Tome, translate." grin.gif

I don't believe it was made by id. For one, I remember this game as having the wierdest numbering scheme. When it first came out, Hexen was named "Heretic 2: Hexen". It was so confusing.

Keen 6 and Dreams?

I thought Duke Nukem was ID.

Aren't there four Wolfenstein games?

Etc, etc, etc.

There may be some issues with copyright, in that id may not own the license to all their games (publishers).

Regarding Duke Nukem 3D, it's 3D Realms stuff.

Heretic II was published by Activision, not id, after Raven (the developers) signed an exclusive publishing deal with them. (And was eaten completely by Activision soon afterwards.)
