Altar has released not one, but two new UFO: Afterlight videos today. The first is a cinematic trailer (with some in-game footage). The second is a 3.5 minute gameplay video that shows the game in action. Grab them both at the official site.

The base management looks much more involved, but I think that's what a lot of folks wanted really.

I like the fact that you can go to missions in a Reticulan UFO grin.gif

The base management seems fine, yes. What i didn't like were the combat scenes, they were way too tame and soft, almost sterile. I saw two times that someone was hit by a missile and there were no signs at all of it in the area around the impact. No smoke, no rubble, no blood, no gibs. Nothing. The rest of the graphics (equipment screens, other parts of the planet, base management) looked fine with the exception of that labyrinth scene which also looked way too empty. I liked the toon-style of the units, though.

Any info if there will be further changes to the combat effects? Or is this the final version?
