This is nothing new. I remember reading about one that amplified forearm strength at least a couple years ago, and a full-body frame early this year.

This one actually looks semi decent. The guy even seems to be able to run with it (though given the length of that particular clip, he may have just been in the process of falling over).

The planned designs look very "Laser Squad" in concept.

That stuff is cool! I wonder what happens if they ditch the batteries and use an Elelrium power source instead. grin.gif

Going by the cables, I reckon that last suit probably had some very large batteries. After all, if it's supposed to be able to handle all this weight, then an external power source points to something a bit larger then a D cell...

Yeah, like a car battery (or a few). Today's newer lithium ion cells are getting pretty good on run-time, but I'm not too sure how they would fare in high current applications (such as lifting weights). We can only wish for an Elerium battery. grin.gif

Guessing a fuelcell or 2 would be a better source of power than a battery.

Wow, this one is great! With the right power supply and some modifcations to hands (instead of just having hooks) it might actually be usefull!

Articulated fingers will prove to be more difficult than the entire exosuit.

Perhaps tehre is no need for a complete hand reconstruction. Although it would be best simply because of human/exoskeleton interexengability of weapons, gear and the likes. Also no need for extended learning of its usage.

Even after reading it 10 times, I still can't pronounce that without twisting my tongue into a Gordian knot. What does it mean?

I think he means interchangability, in which case a socketed stump will do the job just as good, and is infinitely easier to work with.

For the life of me I can't explain the process of making this word. laugh.gif I meant the possibility of both the suit and the soldiers using the same weaponry. So that you don't need to develop a whole new sort of weponry and the soldier can, when he chooses to abandon the suit (or whatever) take the gun and continue on his/her own.

Sorry for the confusion...

It's still more reliable to build a duplicate access port in this case. Connecting the gun directly to the suit's systems will greatly enhance targeting and fire control. Getting a mechanical finger to squeeze the trigger is honestly not the most effecient method of firing a weapon.

And be honest. This is a powersuit. Do you honestly expect an unsuited soldier to be able to effectively use a weapon system of that size and weight?
