Hello guys!
Just wanted to say that I loved to see the original adverts. I remember the UFO and TFTD ones from the old days, but hadn't seen the Apocalypse adverts before. They were brilliant as well... ah, good old days of the golden age of Microprose. Attitude and brilliance. |

Thanks Knan!
Yeah, they sure are great. I'm actually thinking of turning them back into posters for some ambiance in my "workroom". - Zombie -------------------- QUOTE(JellyfishGreen) Zombie: Empirical data's your only man, when formulating a research plan. They call me Zombie because I don't sleep, as I slowly struggle to climb this heap, of corpses, data points, and trials, but from the top - I'll see for miles! |

It makes you wonder if they had some other aliens for the game.

I seem to recall some bit of info from about 5-6 years ago stating that this advert was released well in advance of the game, which makes sense really.

But even so, the screenshots are of the game we know and love, yet that alien is sort of "Lovecraftian", not in the same mould as the others - like Spacevoyager says. like a tentaclat.

what happened to the other great TFTD advert? Same kind of picture IIRC but had the wording 'Longer. Harder. Wetter. And nothing at all to do with porn.'
-------------------- Welcome back to the wonderful world of Fan-fiction! (it's short for fantastic!)
Go check em out, UFO TFTD and Apocalypse all under one roof!!! Also why not check out XCom : Colonisation over in the special projects forum. Won't kill you if you do, might kill you if you don't! |

The other ad is around somewhere as is the picture of the Shark Man.
Ah, the Shark Dude Thing is here: http://xcom.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/x2x7.shtml I really need to see about getting some of that stuff mirrored over on our site as that site might not be around forever - last news post is 2 years old and Gamespy have a policy of taking outdated stuff offline. -------------------- |
