UFO2000 section and forums:
Multiplayer is something many a X-COM fan wished for when the game was first released. The UFO2000 team took it upon them to provide what the developers didn't, and finally we got around to add a small section for the project at StrategyCore. We'll expand it in the time to come, and you can find it in our projects section. Besides the small section, you can find forums dedicated to the project here (led by Kratos). Project Xenocide section and forums: Near the end of 2002 a group of dedicated fans started a project to recreate the feel and spirit of X-COM. It's been a long bumpy road, but the project is still going strong. Azrael was kind enough to help us add a section for the project. Read more in our projects section, and find the forums here (led by Azrael). Pocket UFO forums: Did you know that you can play X-COM on your Pocket PC? No? Time to explore then! Pocket UFO is a remake of X-COM: UFO Defense (UFO: Enemy Unknown) that you can download for free. And in case you're not the lucky owner of a Pocket PC, you can play it on the PC as well! Read more about the game in our Pocket UFO forums (led by Zombie and Accounting Troll). Even more X-COM related projects? Sure thing! There are several other excellent projects in development, and you can find a nice list made by Zombie in our links section. -------------------- |

I made a newspost at Evil Avatar to promote the projects a little. You deserve it!

Both Pocket UFO and UFO2000 are completely playable. The other games in the X-COM genre which are also playable include X-Force: Fight For Destiny and X-COM.Net Turn-based game. See the links page for more info.

A few dozen make a better case for refining that third decimal place. They call me Zombie because I don't sleep, as I slowly struggle to climb this heap, of corpses, data points, and trials, but from the top - I'll see for miles! |

Well, I'm also working on a little XCOM project when I get time at home.
Very early stages at the moment so I don't want to say a lot about it on the forum right now. If anyone can tell me where I can find free 3d models of the x-com aliens tho' I'd apreciate it. -------------------- "Any rumors of a military coup by the Imperial Guard are greatly exaggerated."

Here's another nice looking Pocket PC game, Pyromania. It looks to be a cross between Fallout, X-Com, and the Crusader games. I have no idea if it's any good or not.

@Kernel: Sorry mate, I don't think models of X-Com aliens grow on trees. You'll probably have to find someone to create them for you.
www.3Dtotal.com could be your friend, either for some models to base your own off or for 'recruiting' some 3D-guru. |

Yeah I guessed they would be hard to find. I can make pretty good 3D models of inanimate objects like guns, tanks, ships, etc. But whenever I try to make any living being like a person or animal it usualy ends up looking like a blob with legs. -------------------- "Any rumors of a military coup by the Imperial Guard are greatly exaggerated."

@Kernel
You'll find lots of tips and tutorials on that site, plus they've got plenty of links for it I've been in your situation aswell and it's quite hard to create 'smooth' objects at first, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it eventually. |
