CODE
As you can see,
these code tags are acting
a bit more like quote tags.

(To avoid confusion... They've been fixed now. wink.gif )

However, if you type some BBCode or HTML into them as an admin, they will display the code as code and not parse it as it will in a quote tag.

For example:
CODE
This is some [i]bbcode[/i].

This is some <strong>html</strong>!

QUOTE
This is some bbcode.

This is some <strong>html</strong>!

Unfortunately that last bit of html didn't parse as I've not allowewd ANYONE to post html, but you get the idea. Basically both bits of content in the above boxes use exactly the same code.

If this was a techie forum for discussion of webpage design, the code tag might get a bit more use wink.gif

Actually, I'm more talking about the formating. The code tags used to space all characters by the same amount, allowing them to displays lists of stats correctly. Folks like Zombie (and sometimes myself) who post a lot of stats find this handy.

That's a simple font issue. Whoever designed this current skin (not I) changed it from a uniformly-spaced character set to something silly like Arial. I'll add it to my to do list smile.gif

Well, not to put pressure on you Pete, but the longer those code tags are down, the more of my posts I'll have to re-edit because the spacing will be wrong again. Since the change-over I have been coping simply by adding extra spaces to make things look like a table.

See, I constantly use those tags because the information I gather normally requires a spreadsheet-type of a result. The code fits the bill perfectly. Sure, the average member probably only uses a code tag once or twice, but look how often I use them. On top of this, some people actually read through my results, and I'm sure they would like it if my tables were "pretty", not just functional if you catch my drift! smile.gif

Thank you so much Pete! The code tags now work (except for the annoying larger type for the posts I made during the problems). Ah, well. I fixed about 7 or 8 of my previous posts so the rows all line up. At least those tables are readable now. Thanks again, Pete! smile.gif
