Please help me with the FAQ on levling all abilities or a link to show where they can be seen.
*Strength *Vitaltiy Points *Dexterity *Action Points *Inteligence * Evasion Shooting Hide Melee *Spot Throwing *Enginering Snipe Medicine Burst *Interupt The ones marked with an Asterisk are the ones I don't know how to raise, or how to raise effieciently. I read the thread regarding its a bug that the unused soldiers stats skyrocket. I have only been playing a week and plan to start over, since this is a spoiling cheat. I really wanted to try playing with no reloading the game due to a soldiers death. Choice A: Play hardcore, when soldier dies he/she is dead!, but replacement starts with exaterated stats. Choice B:Many do-overs, but character levels and skills are earned. I Choose B. Thanks for any skill up tips you all may provide. Also does anyone know a way to save a game on hard level in mission, mod or anything? I like the difficulty of Hard, but I find I run out of time in the middle of a mission alot and had to start a normal level game so could save in mission. |

Can't help with the skills thing, unfortunately.
You can save from the console, though. Just activate the console (I don't have the instructions on how to enable it handy, but they shouldn't be hard to find) and type 'save <name of saved game>' |

Still working on figuring these out myself, but what I can share I will.
*Strength Don't know yet(DK) *Vitality Points Get shot, take damage... *Dexterity DK, perhaps use those skills based on Dex? *Action Points Easy, run around. *Evasion Again, get shot at, hit take damage. My Hero (Engineer) who likes to play with explosives, trap the door, remove trap, throw grenade at door instead of retrapping has raised his evasion the highest. Next would be the meatshields who job is to open the doors and tend to get shot up... Still working on just what all a critical bleeding wound raises, but now with enough medic supplies I look forward to a bleeding wound. Everyone gets a chance to raise their medical skills. Shooting Hide As you have seen, use them Melee *Spot Seems like a map with Civies running around is a good way to raise this, Else with bad guys running around or even your team running around hidden. Mines or traps set but the bad guys work too... Throwing Use it. Toss those nades or better yet throwing knifes... *Engineering Set mines or traps and/or disarm them, use a small grenade for training purposes else it may kill you. Someone made a good suggestion of trying to pick the PK Hanger door at base. My problem was running out of lockpicks in the base stores. Less of a problem now that my Engineer has reached Master Engineer(removes skill limit on the advanced items) I do have each member of the team carry Engineering & Medic items for field use. Snipe Medicine Burst *Interrupt To use it you need to have AP's save for the enemies turn. Hard to do if they want to kill you but I often hold on the shot to give a chance on Interrupts and getting off enough shots in the following turn to kill the mob. I cornered 2 enemy engineers in a random encounter and let them run back on forth while I worked on Hide, Interrupt and Spot. |

Thanks for the feedback.
I took the whole team to the default camp you can click into. There i was able to raise shoot, burst, melee, hide, spot and throw by using junk from the armory for ammo and knives. I linked all six together to move at same time in a crouch to get AP's up. Although I had to click on turn based mode for it to move up. While they all 6 creeped around in same direction hidden or not there spot skill went up. I also took one character and sprinted back and forth in front of my team and spot went up well. My version of boot camp. When i raised shoot i took one character to one corner of camp and the shooter to other corner so he could target other player. What little damage the player took I practiced medicine on. It was boring work but I was able to max these skills to highest they would move for level 1 and 2's, about hour and a half worth. Through all this I didnt get the evasion to move. Traping and disarming the empty chest in this screen was good for one round till I critically wounded the Engineer. Hide made the Dex move real slowly at each level up. Str still has me wondering what does it. My Soldier, grenader and engineer seems to get some str advancement. I am wondering if its the SubMG and MG that raises it from the recoil? Maybe Hard weapons vs Easy weapons has effect? |
