I posted this in the SS official forum, but it seems this forum is a little more active. Thoughts?

For those who can't be bothered reading his linked post, the complaint is about the 'Auto Levelling' of unused characters.

This bug is known to all of us, and has been posted on the official Nival forums (Note the JoWood forums are the publishers forums... the official Nival ones are quite active, though they are down at the moment.)

As a gamer, I just refused to use anyone that hadn't been with me from the start. Some people though, do the opposite and take advantage of the bug, which in my mind is basically the same as cheating. Fine once you've played the game... but a real game spoiler if you do it first time through.

Anyway, I'm not sure if t's been addressed or looked at for a patch, but I thik the Sentinels expansion will do Mercs differently, so we'll wait and see.

Cheers. I'll take a gander at the nival forums when they're up.

Looks like I'll have to do what you do and stick with one squad though. Irritating. Still, can't let it spoil an otherwise fun game.

Well, any news on this? Have they fixed it? Is there a patch for the most irritating bug in the game? And where can I find it?

biggles sorry.. but why dont you tell him that theres a mod that fixes that?

and king kurt - why dont you just use the search button or look in the mod forum - there are plenty of posts regarding this?
its named skill hack or watch dog.

the developer just recently updated it and posted a link in the mod forum.

http://home.comcast.net/~cchargin/silentst...torm/index.html

its works perfect by bringing all skills to the minimum for that level and doesnt touch any skill higher than that.
but nothing official - sry..

edit: ups sorry didnt saw the post date wink.gif
