I have both the downloaded version from *link removed* and the CD collectors edition version and I can get neither to work

The CD version I cant even install and when it says that my cd rom speed has an error and under files/buffers there are no buffers

The downloaded version I go installed and have VSDM or whatever and i got it installed and everything but after the opening sequence or skipping it it freezes at the title screen without the main menu, or gets to the main menu and I cant select anything

any help?

I'm on win2k

Hello.

I got my hands on a copy of the collector's edition, and it won't install on my W2K. It says I have not enough buffers. I tried editing CONFIG.NT but altough the command FILES is applied, the command BUFFERS is ignored by W2K.

Any hlep ?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Tempest. I play from W2K too. I fix my problem with two things: the VDMSound thing (you may have), and an utilitary that handles the mouse (google MOUSE2KV).

What I did was I created a .bat file that runs the mouse2kv thing on xcomapoc.exe, and let the VDMS runs this .bat file.

Put in the .bat file the following:
CODE
mouse2kv 640 480 6 6 xcomapoc.exe

Also let VDMS control the setup to it can detect the "defaults" for the sound, so you can hear things like aliens' screams of death grin.gif

Good luck

Alex
