Official UFO:Aftershock site:
As promised, ALTAR have made the official UFO:Aftershock site available today. It contains 6 shots of, where one seems to be in-game. You can find the site at UFO-Aftershock.com! Here's the little information they have added on the story:

The year is 2054. Fifty years ago, something terrible happened and the surface of Earth became uninhabitable. The remnants of humankind escaped to immense flying island «the Laputa», however a revolt against increasingly rigid and corrupt human leadership of the island escalated into a conflict that eventually destroyed it. The survivors of the survivors flee once again. Can they reclaim the Earth from whatever force now holding her in its powers?

There is also a list of features already seen in the press release. Enjoy!

Updated Model Importer & Exporter:
The talented Mr. Fulby is still hard at work with his Model Importer & Exporter for Milkshape 3D. This is the new features available:
  • Imports/exports models with multiple meshes.
  • Imports text file models that have been converted from the binary format.
  • Partial bone support:
    • Vertices keep one bone reference when imported (the first one before anyone asks).
    • Bone names are imported, bone data isn't yet.
    • Vertices are exported with bone name.
You can read more here, and download it from our tools section. Do your thing modders! And if you'd like to see some examples, take a look at BlackAlmaz's work here.

Laputa? How very Miyazaki-esqe laugh.gif

How does that really rhyme with the dark & gritty post-apocalyptic mood in the original game?

So the tables will have turned then, the humans are attacking the earth not the aliens. I suppose that wont change the gameplay much, its not like we started with 60 bases in aftermath and had to defend them. One thing i think they should try and focus on is getting the detail of the levels more evident. In aftermath and many other games the world is really very detailed but you're always as such a distance from it that you never get to fully appreciate it. Which is a huge shame.

@sigget: I will not say anything before the interview is here, except that the changes to the game will be a little bigger than that... wink.gif

@BlackAlmaz: Looking good that in-game UZI! I'll see about server space and PM you when I've checked it out.
