Could use bmps and add them into pck files with pckview or just release the pics(should be very small for bmp) and allow the user to manually put them into their pck files instead of using the batch file. It would be more flexible but time consuming for end user to use the 2nd approach.

.............jman, don't tell anyone..........but they are bmp's and the batch file is made so it saves and over writes the data for the .dat files and automatically replaces the images for the user. it doesn't make sense to make a mod and it not be user friendly.........well at least to me. but i got all the things fixed now, everything works good.......for right now anyways. and please explain what you mean by "It would be more flexible but time consuming for end user to use the 2nd approach." i would like to know what you are thinking. ideas would be a good thing. and i'll even add you to the list of helpful people.........you'd be #3!!

1st approach: add pck files only change one weapon at a time because of overwriting file.
2nd approach: add bmp files into users existing pck files allowing them to pick and choose the weapons they wanted to add. -------------------- "Guns aren't toys. They're for family protection, hunting dangerous or delicious animals, and keeping the King of England out of your face."

yes j, i've been using the second approach the whole time. the only things that do not use that method are my first mod and xcww2, and also the sunfire power armor thingy, which i need to fix.

The img thing threw me until I looked in the batch and relized that they were really bmps.

just a thought Monkeyloard
could you ship the patch version of the pck_view or have in on your site.. on faster machines the standard version of it gets a devide overflow, commen in DOS pascal programs compiled on borland turbo pascal 3.x -Blade FireLight -------------------- QUOTE Combat is very simple, there is a first place and second place, second place is laying face down in the mud, sometimes, so is first place. |

I was refering to the old DOS Pck_view.exe program you use in your .bat files, not Ben's new editor... his editor does not work as patching and the .Net requirement is to big for the average user to want to download just to mod the game. besides his editor would not work for patching.
