I just got word from the organizers that there will be a UFO2000 championship in the near future. The rules are:

- Terrain: City, map size: 5x5
- 20 turns limit, time of each turn: 300 seconds
- 15k points limit
- Map exploration level: 1, ground items disabled
- Players must belong to a clan (either new or an already existing one), with a mininum of 2 members

I hope I got all the rules right.

Interesting... We really should have a representative team from our forums.

I reckon NKF and Zombie would be the two most powerful players around here at the moment...

UFO2000 has a very different gameplay than the original UFO since you are not facing the AI but human players. And there are other other differences:
- Grenades go off instantly after being thrown
- You can fire anywhere you want without getting those "No line of fire" warnings

There are also some other differences concerning armor, morale and other stuff.

Hmm... When you say grenades go off instantly, do you mean during the same turn in which they were thrown?

I mean instead of the grenade hitting the floor and waiting there to explode when you press the end button, it explodes the moment it hits the ground, on the middle of the turn.

Great to create smoke screens and opening the side of a building for the plasma to do some work inside wink.gif
