The display isn't what I'd call intuitive. Anyone know how to translate those numbers into something useful? I don't see how two relationships, A -> B and B -> A, needs four numbers to describe them. Is this sorta like how agent stats are stored, an initial value and a changed value? Which is which? bah!

Anyone know of a base editor that will let you re-arrange your base layout? I hate starting bases designed by morons/random.

I keep this old Dell Optiplex XL 575 around to play X-COM on. Just finished a "superhuman" game (and I only use lasers, are you sure the difficulty bug was fixed??) and decided to skip to Apoc instead of TFTD. Installed it from the Collectors Edition CD assuming thats the most up-to-date version but I could get my original CD if needed. The intro won't play at all but can start a game, go into combat, etc etc so I think all is well, I just have no sound. I've got a genuine SB 16 in here too, and the sound test passes fine. I don't quite understand why there's no sound in game.
btw, hi all! I've not been around since the days of Aftermath, and not even much then. I don't have Aftershock yet 'cause my gaming machine died in November. Getting a new mb next week so I'll hopefully be catching up soon.

On some people's posts I see the smilie code, like :argh: or  instead of the emoticon. Whats up with that? I know the Enable emoticons checkbox, but it doesn't make sense that so many people would have that disabled yet still hit the smilie buttons.

It fills a spot in my game cycle as a flight sim, without having to be Star Wars or Microsoft's terrorist training program or WWII. Even better, its a space flight sim. I am a better pilot in space, don't have to worry about nosediving into the ground just because you forgot which way was UP during a dogfight. Unfortunately, its Zero G flight model is still focussed on gravity, requiring power to maintain a velocity.
I wonder if it would be possible to mod the code to act properly. btw, a game "brand" that has a more accurate flight model is the Independence War pair. |
