I was reading over the Alien pages of the wiki and it states in the Sectopod and Cyberdisc pages that because they take up 4 squares, they receive 4x the damage from HE. Is that true? I would have thought that each segment would be calculated independently, and if one segment reached 0 Health, then the whole unit would die. I didn't realise each segment's damage was cumulative.

I was reading through some gaming news on Gamespot and came across this. It states:
QUOTE As for Levine and co., Surfer Girl states that she has confirmed with one of 2K Marin's new staffers that the mysterious Project X will be set in the X-Com universe. "Project X is a new X-Com title, as previously reported by the Internet, and this post has been confirmed by one who left for San Francisco," she says. Sounds like good news for all of us

My interest in X-COM seems to go through phases and right now I'm in the phase again, but since the last phase I've installed Vista and when I went to run UFO (both DOS and CE) I found that it doesn't work at all. The DOS version simply crashes and the CE one runs with audio but no video, just a black screen.
Needless to say, I'm a sad boy

I can never keep up with who owns the X-COM property and so I thought an easy way to find out would be to do a whois lookup on the domain x-com.com, and when I did, the Registrant came up as Rockstar Games, makers of the GTA series! I wonder why they would have it?

As many know, I'm obsessed with the idea of an X-COM shooter, and part of that obsession is that I'm constantly thinking of ways to convert the good ol' original into a format that would work in the 3D first-person realm. One thing that has occured to me is that the aliens in UFO would be far too easy (and possibly boring) for today's shooter crowd and was wondering what you, the fans, would change/upgrade about them to make them more exciting and more chalenging?
Here are just a few of my ideas:
